USTM’s Hosts Deeksharambh 2025 to Empower Students for future success

9th Mile, Khanapara, Ri Bhoi, Tuesday, September 9, 2025: The University of Science and Technology Meghalaya (USTM) recently hosted its Deeksharambh 2025 orientation program, designed to welcome and integrate new students into the university community.
The dynamic orientation session titled “Career Opportunities and Upskilling Needs” was held at the University of Science and Technology Meghalaya’s Central Auditorium, providing freshers with valuable insights into career opportunities and upskilling needs.
Dr. Aggarwal, a highly accomplished scientist in the field of Remote Sensing and GIS applications, Director of NESAC, Shillong, delivered the keynote speech offering guidance on course selection, career choices, and emerging opportunities, while emphasizing the importance of early career planning to bridge the gap between education and employment.

This was followed by a lively Q&A session, allowing students to engage with Dr. Aggarwal and clarify their doubts.
Vice Chancellor Prof. G.D. Sharma concluded the session with an optimistic note, encouraging students to make informed decisions about their academic pursuits.
The orientation program was designed to help new students adjust to the university environment, understand its ethos and culture, and set themselves up for success. The event was well-received by the students, who appreciated the valuable insights and guidance provided by the speakers.

The University of Science and Technology Meghalaya (USTM) is the only private university in North East India that receives the NIRF Ranking for the fourth consecutive year, 2025. The university is established through the University of Science and Technology, Meghalaya Act, 2008, of the Government of Meghalaya. It is the largest educational network in the North-Eastern region of India.
