Pro Vice Chancellor Padma Shri Sarbeshwar Sahariya gave a dynamic speech bringing in a whiff of anticipation as he said, “As students, staff, faculty, we are the future of India. Let’s be great learners, critical thinkers, innovators, and people with high integrity to build India with education, invention, and harmony to build a strong, stable India for tomorrow.”
A festive flag-marching ceremony highlighted the occasion’s magnificence, followed by a special performance featuring cultural dances and patriotic songs, culminating in the enchanting “Vande Mataram.”
The university students innovatively crafted tri-colour Independence Day badges from bottle caps. Other forms of innovation and creativity flooded the celebration, consistent with the nation’s vision of a Naya Bharat loaded with inventions, prosperity, security, and self-reliance.

An Azadi Rally and a glorious Tricolour balloon release lit up the grey August skies, with flecks of colour heightening the stateliness of the weighty occasion. This was followed by refreshments and an animated open quiz competition at Gyan Circle, after which recreational spirited games at the Amenity Centre added a sparkle to the day.
Attended by USTM’s fraternity of deans, directors, administrative officials, heads of department, faculty members, students, and staff, the breathtaking force of unity mirrored the theme of India’s 79th Independence Day – ‘Naya Bharat’, – using creativity and innovation to symbolize India’s working vision towards prosperity, security, and self-reliance, synchronizing with the Centre’s vision of achieving a Viksit Bharat by 2047.
