USTM’s Career Counseling workshop brings together more than 250 Tripura students
Agartala, Tripura Friday, June 27, 2025: In a motivational move for academic students to take the right roadmap to charter their plans, the University of Science and Technology hosted a stimulating Workshop in Agartala, Tripura titled “Career Opportunities in the Context of NEP-2020” on Friday, June 27, 2025. The workshop witnessed a whopping number of more than 250 participants actively participating in the session enriching ideas on career plans.
This engaging Career Workshop provided students with insights into the career opportunities emerging from the National Education Policy 2020. It was a transformative experience, providing invaluable insights and practical guidance on navigating the professional world. With intensive interactive sessions, deep discussions, and personalized counseling, students gained clarity on their career aspirations, identified their strengths, and developed strategies to overcome challenges.
The workshop enabled students to explore diverse career options, set realistic goals, and create a roadmap for success, ultimately bridging the gap between academia and industry.
After the ceremonial lamp lighting, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, USTM Prof GD Sharma, who started with the welcome address emphasized USTM’s commitment to quality education and transformative leadership in the region.
In his insightful address, Prof. Badal Kumar Dutta, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor (In-Charge) of Tripura University, emphasized the critical need to align higher education with emerging global trends and industry demands
The event’s Chief Guest, Padma Shri Prof. Arunoday Saha, Former Chairman of the Higher Education Council (Govt. of Tripura) and Founding Vice Chancellor of Tripura University, delivered an enlightening address. He underscored the critical role of NEP 2020 in redefining India’s education landscape and preparing youth for global careers.
The session was interactive as, Prof Salim Shah, from the Department of Economics and Dr Surajit Bhattacharjee from the Department of Molecular Biology of Tripura University shared their valuable insights on career guidance in the NEP-context.
An interactive open session allowed participants to share perspectives and seek guidance on various career opportunities emerging from NEP-2020 reforms.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Ajmal Bhuyan, Academic Registrar, USTM.
USTM has a rich history of hosting a large number of events where dignitaries including two former Presidents of India- Dr APJ Abdul Kalam and Shri Ram Nath Kovind, Central Ministers; Governors and Chief Ministers of different states; Justice A. M. Ahmadi, former Chief Justice of India; Justice Ujjal Bhuyan, Judge of the Supreme Court of India; Chairman-UGC, Chairman-ISRO; Shri Kailash Satyarthi-Nobel Laureate, and Vice Chancellors of top class Universities had visited the University all with a noble vision to build stronger networks and work together to bring positive change.
