USTM Empowers School Educators with AI Skills Through Outreach Program at Pillangkatta

Ri-Bhoi, Meghalaya | 10th February 2026: The Department of Computer Science, University of Science and Technology Meghalaya (USTM), successfully conducted an outreach program titled “AI for Educators: Teaching the Future Today” at Pillangkatta Secondary School, Pillangkatta, Meghalaya, on Tuesday.
The program aimed to acquaint school educators with the transformative role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in contemporary teaching–learning practices. The initiative focused on bridging the gap between emerging technologies and classroom pedagogy, enabling teachers to effectively adopt AI-driven tools for enhanced educational delivery.
Organised under the aegis of the Department of Computer Science, USTM, in association with the NSS Cell and supported by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), the session highlighted practical ways in which AI can assist educators in lesson planning, student assessment, personalised learning pathways, and academic administration.
During the interactive session, experts elaborated on real-world applications of AI in education and underscored the need to prepare students for a rapidly evolving, technology-driven future. The participating teachers expressed appreciation for the initiative, noting that the program significantly enhanced their understanding of digital tools and innovative pedagogical approaches.
The program was coordinated by Mrs Jasmine Ara Begum, Assistant Professor, Mr Oinam David Singh, Assistant Professor, along with students of BCA 4th Semester from the Department of Computer Science, USTM.
