ADC Ri-Bhoi District, IAS Shri Ayushi Pradhan Inspires Aspirants at USTM IAS Academy

02nd April,2026, Ri-Bhoi, Meghalaya: The University of Science and Technology Meghalaya (USTM) had the honour of hosting IAS Shri Ayushi Pradhan, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Ri-Bhoi District, for an engaging and insightful interaction with the students of the USTM IAS Academy. Her visit marked a significant and inspiring occasion for civil service aspirants on campus.
The distinguished officer was warmly received at the Chancellor’s office by Hon’ble Chancellor Shri Mahbubul Hoque, along with Shri H. S. Sidhu, Director, Centre for Competitive Examination (CCE), USTM. The interaction commenced on a gracious note, reflecting the institution’s commitment to providing students with direct exposure to accomplished administrators and real-world governance experiences.
During the interactive session, IAS Shri Ayushi Pradhan shared her journey into the civil services, offering valuable insights into preparation strategies, challenges, and the discipline required to succeed in one of the country’s most competitive examinations. She emphasised the importance of consistency, clarity of purpose, and ethical grounding, encouraging students to remain focused and resilient throughout their preparation.
She also elaborated on the structure and significance of the UPSC Civil Services Examination, highlighting its comprehensive and dynamic syllabus that covers a wide range of subjects, including history, polity, economy, geography, environment, science & technology, and current affairs. She stressed that a thorough understanding of the syllabus is fundamental to effective preparation, as it not only guides focused study but also helps aspirants develop analytical thinking, decision-making ability, and a well-rounded perspective on national and global issues—qualities essential for a successful civil servant.
Highlighting the support system at USTM, it was noted that the University is committed to nurturing future administrators by offering free IAS coaching to deserving aspirants through its USTM IAS Academy. The programme is strengthened by the guidance of national-level mentors and experienced faculty, ensuring that students receive quality preparation, strategic mentorship, and holistic development aligned with the demands of the UPSC examination.
Drawing from her administrative experience as ADC of Ri-Bhoi District, she spoke about the responsibilities and impact of governance at the grassroots level, inspiring students to view civil services not merely as a career but as a platform for meaningful public service and societal transformation.
