RESEARCH BACKGROUND:
Mushrooms are indispensable in maintaining good health in human body and are being used as a source of food and medicine since the ancient era. However, large sections of the population are still unaware of the positive aspects of mushrooms due to fragmentary and poor information about their bioavailability and toxicity. The identification of the mushrooms can help the mushroom hunters for easy detection of the toxic one from their edible counterpart which mimics in their morph typing. Understanding the toxicity nature of the poisonous one and differentiating it with the edible one will further develop their biological and therapeutic applications and open vistas for their Bios prospection and use of human benefits. I have undertaken research to determine the biochemical, probiotics, nutritional and toxicological aspect of the wild mushrooms of the region which can open the scope for their applications in health promotion, dietary feeding and sustainable income generation
