Education Research & Development Foundation (ERDF) is registered as a charitable trust under the provision of Indian Trust Act 1882 and as per the provisions under the Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860. The head office of the Foundation is located at ERDF Bhawan, Lalmati Road, Bhetapara, Guwahati. ERDF is the largest & fastest growing educational network in the north-eastern region, catering education from KG to PG to Ph.D. There are 9,000 students in the institutions of ERDF out of which 20% belong to the indigent and underprivileged. At present, ERDF institutions have 65 courses, 36 Departments and 7 Research Journals. Nearly 22,000 students have graduated from different institutions of ERDF wherein more than 17,000 alumni are settled in various sectors across the country. ERDF has today emerged as the premier educational network of North East India.
Institutions promoted by ERDF:
Central Public School, Patharkandi is the first CBSE affiliated school of ERDF set up in Karimganj District in April 2008. In January 2010, Central Public School Badarpur, the 2nd CBSE affiliated school was set up in Umarpur, near the Badarpur town.
Regional Institute of Science and Technology (RIST) is an engineering college of par excellence set up by ERDF in 2009. RIST provides B.Tech Courses approved by AICTE, New Delhi & it is affiliated to North Eastern Hill University, Shillong.
One of the most ambitious projects of ERDF is the University of Science and Technology Meghalaya (USTM) which was established under the provision of the University of Science & Technology, Meghalaya Act (No 6 of 2008) enacted by the Legislative Assembly of Meghalaya and started its courses since 2011.
In 2015, ERDF set up Khairun Nessa Begum Women’s College at Badarpur which is affiliated to Assam University, Silchar. Realizing the demand of Pharmaceutical Education in Greater Barak Valley, ERDF has established Allama TR College of Pharmacy at Srigouri, Badarpur, Karimganj from the Academic Session-2020-21. It is the 12th venture of ERDF and is affiliated to Srimanta Sankardeva University of Health Sciences, Guwahati and approved by Pharmacy Council of India, New Delhi.
The BAMS courses under IA Ayurvedic Medical College have begun from the academic year 2023-24.
ERDF has officially embarked on its Mega Dream project – the “PA Sangma International Medical College & Hospital” from the academic year 2024-25 by offering MBBS course. This ambitious initiative aims to revolutionize medical education and healthcare, setting new benchmarks for excellence & innovation.
