Founder’s Day 2019

Theme of the Year: “I Can Make a Difference”

Founder’s Day 2019 was celebrated with great enthusiasm across various departments of USTM and other institutions under ERDF. To mark the occasion, multiple competitions and activities were organized, encouraging student participation and creativity.

At USTM, the Department of Social Work organized a Photography Competition on 16th November 2019 for MSW 1st semester students on the theme “The Founder and the Institution.” The best photographs were selected, and prizes were awarded to the top three participants.

The Department of Commerce hosted a series of competitions on 22nd November 2019, focusing on both individual and group participation under the theme “I Can Make a Difference.”

Individual Competitions:

• Slogan Writing: Theme – No Plastic Use
• Slogan for Departmental T-Shirt
• Innovative Business Idea
• Essay Competition: Edupreneurial Journey of Shri Mahbubul Hoque (Max 500 words)

Group Competitions:

• Efforts in Maintaining Cleanliness
• Efforts in Energy Conservation
• Group Song Competition: Theme – Motivation

Additionally, students with 90% or more attendance in the Odd Semester 2019 were honored with a special award for their dedication.

On 1st December 2019, the Department of Mathematics celebrated Founder’s Day with a full-day event involving students and faculty members. The celebration began with a Speech Competition for M.Sc. 1st and 3rd semester students, followed by a writing competition on the topic “Entrepreneurial Journey of Shri Mahbubul Hoque, Hon’ble Chancellor, USTM.”

At the Regional Institute of Science & Technology (RIST), Meghalaya, Founder’s Day was commemorated with a Quiz Competition and a Portrait-Making Competition.

The Department of Earth Science at USTM organized an Art & Painting Competition and an Extempore Speech Competition to inspire students and honor the visionary leadership of the founder.

Beyond USTM, Central Public School Patharkandi, Central Public School Badarpur, and KNB Women’s College Badarpur also celebrated Founder’s Day with great enthusiasm, organizing various activities to engage students and faculty members.

The celebrations across all institutions reflected the spirit of inspiration and commitment towards making a difference, honoring the remarkable contributions of Shri Mahbubul Hoque.
