Assam Governor felicitates USTM Student
9th Mile, Khanapara, Ri Bhoi, January 9, 2025: Mr. Alongbar Boro, a 4th semester MCA student from the Department of Computer Science, University of Science and Technology Meghalaya (USTM) has been felicitated yesterday by the Hon’ble Governor of Assam, Shri Lakshman Prasad Acharya, for his exceptional accomplishments and contributions.
Mr. Alongbar Boro, along with Miss Teihun Makri, another student of Botany, are NSS volunteers at USTM and have qualified for the final round of the prestigious “My Bharat National Championship”. The championship, a platform to showcase innovative ideas and visions for a developed India (Vikshit Bharat), has brought these two exemplary students to the national stage. Mr. While Mr Alongbar Boro is representing Assam state, Miss Teihun Makri is representing Meghalaya state in their journey to the finals.
Speaking in this context, Dr Nibedita Paul, NSS Programme Coordinator of USTM said, “The final round of the “My Bharat National Championship” will take place on the 11th and 12th of January 2025, where Mr. Boro and Miss Makri will have the opportunity to present their visionary ideas for a developed India in front of the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India. This platform not only highlights their individual excellence but also underscores the values and quality of education at USTM”.
The My Bharat National Championship is an event organized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. The My Bharat program aims to empower India’s youth by: promoting social mobility, reducing educational disparities, providing practical skills, and engaging youth to become leaders and active citizens.
