A students’ Exchange Program : Management Information System got the highlights
The MoU between University of Science &
Technology, Meghalaya and Gauhati University had accelerated its tempo with a
Students’ Exchange Programme. It was organised by the Department of Commerce,
Guahati University on 7th November 2016.
The programme had started at 9.30 am with an inaugural speech by Dr. Bhaskar
Jyoti Bora, HOD, Commerce Department, Gauhati University highlighting the basic
objectives of such kind of students’ exchange programme. He motivated the
students to be participative and make the programme fruitful.
After the inaugural speech, the class session was started by Dr. Prasant Sarma.
His topic of discussion was ‘Management Information System” whereby he explained
the concept, process and importance of the topic in collecting and distributing
accounting information. He is followed by Prof. Amrit Pal Singh who highlighted
the concept of Marketing, E-Commerce. At the same time he also spoke of various
job opportunities available for marketing students. The third period was taken
by Prof. Padma Lochan Hazarika whereby he taught the students very important
topic of Research Methodology. After the lunch the programme was again started
at 1.30pm by Prof. S. Mahapatra on the topic of Research Design. He explained
the students various kinds of research specifically experimental, exploratory,
pure and applied research etc. At the end the class was taken by Dr. Tilak Das
whereby he discussed with the students the style of writing the dissertation
i.e. how to write review of literature, bibliography etc.
The students showed their keen interest throughout the sessions. They were
interactive by asking question and expressing their views to make it a
successful students’ exchange programme.
