“Keep adapting with the ever changing
environment to excel”: Principal Secretary, Govt of Assam at farewell meet of
About six hundred twenty nine students pursuing various streams
at the University of Science & Technology, Meghalaya (USTM) were given farewell
at a colourful function held at the USTM campus on Saturday, May 28th, 2016.
Shri Rajiv Kumar Bora (IAS), Principal Secretary to the Government of Assam had
graced the occasion as the Chief Guest while Shri Manoj Das, Director of Indian
Institute of Entrepreneurship was present as the guest of honour.
Addressing to the outgoing students, Shri Rajiv Kumar Bora had quoted them as
uncut diamonds and they have been polished by the teachers during their stay at
the University but still more polishing is required to emerge as pure diamonds
which will now depend upon the students. Shri Bora also urged the students to be
adaptive with the ever changing environment to excel and to learn the basics
first, then try to master in that. He narrated “Success is not the key to
happiness, happiness is the key to success”.
Shri Manoj Das, in his speech emphasized that although north eastern region is
full of resources and avenues, there is still no proper utilization of those. As
the world population is increasing day by day along with the problem of
unemployment, it is high time to utilize the resources and IIE is constantly
working in that line. He announced in front of the students that if they need
any kind of assistance from his organization, they are most welcome.
Earlier the Vice Chancellor and Pro Vice Chancellor of the University Dr. P.G.
Rao and Dr. R. K. Sharma had congratulated the outgoing students for
successfully completing their academic stay at the University and wished them
best wishes for a bright career ahead. The honouable Chancellor of the
University Shri M. Hoque thanked the students for choosing USTM as their
destination for higher studies and for being partners in its progress. He urged
them to be true brand ambassadors of USTM.
